TENS and K-7 (TMJ and Bite Evaluation System)
The K-7 evaluation system assesses in the function and alignment of the jaw joint and bite.
Problems in the jaw joint (TMJ), can cause unpleasant symptoms such as headaches, neck pain, clicking and popping in the jaw, ringing in the ears, earaches and even numbness and tingling in the extremities.
The discipline of correcting jaw joint dysfunction is called "Neuromuscular Dentistry." Dr. Nadler is highly trained in neuromuscular dentistry, having studied at the well-known Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies. He also studied occlusion (the bite) at the L.D. Pankey Institute.
The TENS (Transcutaneous Electrical Neural Stimulation) unit delivers tiny electrical impulses to the muscles responsible for jaw movement and relaxes them. In less than an hour the relaxed jaw can find its ideal position.
At the same time, a full diagnosis of the problem with the K-7 evaluation system is performed. The K-7 develops images of the patient's jaw movement and muscle activity. It can also help determine the condition of the jaw joint by evaluating joint sounds.
