Sleep Apnea & Snoring Treatment
Dr. Nadler is very experienced in helping you resolve the sleep apnea and snoring issues in your life.
An alternative to CPAP therapy
Dr. Nadler uses special appliances, like a mouth guard, to control sleep apnea and snoring. These appliances are worn at night and are more comfortable and less cumbersome than using a CPAP machine. Many sleep apnea patients are eligible for an oral appliance.
Dr. Nadler evaluates your condition to see if you have sleep apnea and if so, how severe it is. The first step is to schedule a free consultation with Dr. Nadler.

Dr. Nadler uses special appliances for the treatment of sleep apnea: the SomnoDent, the MicrO2 Device, and the Herbst dental appliances. If you are diagnosed with sleep apnea, Dr. Nadler can design a custom appliance for you to use while you sleep. They are comfortable and easy to use, allowing you to sleep much more soundly throughout the night.
What is Sleep Apnea?
Do you wake up feeling tired in the morning? Has your sleeping companion moved to the couch? Do you wake up choking in the night?
Sleep Apnea is a condition which can be characterized by repeated pauses in your breathing when you are asleep. These pauses can last 10 to 20 seconds or more, and can occur up to thirty or more times per hour. Almost 40% of snorers suffer from sleep apnea.
Not only can sleep apnea interfere with sound sleep due to repeated moments of waking up, but it can also lead to other more serious health conditions such as high blood pressure, stroke and more.
Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is the most common type and occurs when the soft palate relaxes too much and blocks your airway.
It forces your body to wake up as the oxygen level in your bloodstream lowers.
Facts and risk factors about Sleep Apnea and Snoring
-
A bed partner of a disruptive snorer loses between 1 to 2 hours of sleep a night
-
Someone with sleep apnea has a higher risk for serious health issues, such as hypertension, stroke and cardiovascular disease
-
About 40% of people who suffer from OSA are clinically obese
-
Daytime sleepiness affects driving, concentration at work and memory
-
Gastro Esophageal Reflux Disease (GERD)
-
Adult onset diabetes

Experience relief from your symptoms
Oral appliances relieve the symptoms of sleep apnea by repositioning your jaw and tongue and keeping your airway open.
Dr. Nadler will use the SomnoDent, MicrO2 Device, or Herbst appliances to create a custom fitted oral appliance that is comfortable and effective. Because they open your airway, your breathing is no longer compromised and you can have a good night's sleep once again!
For patients who experience a more severe case of sleep apnea there is a different appliance. It is called the CPAP (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure). The machine pushes air through your breathing passages at a pressure that is high enough to prevent sleep apnea.
